August 2017

The time had come. The event of the summer was getting very, very close. OK, maybe not THE event of the summer for everyone, but this was something I had been looking forward to. My day at the beaches of Olympic National Park started out raining with zero other people. Each stop saw better weather and more crowds. Final stop at Ruby Beach found me grossly overdressed and feeling like I was in a big city with crowds.
This past weekend I spent some time out on the Washington coast with family. Since I was so close I had to drive up to Olympic National Park. First stop was Beach 1, the southern most beach. I had it to myself. Might have had something to do with the rain. But I didn't mind getting soaked.
Hello old friend. Didn't expect to see you today. But boss gave the company the afternoon off so I decided to take a little drive and say hi.
