Exploring Washington’s Olympic Peninsula

November 14, 2017November 15, 2017 / Marshall / 6 Comments

September/October 2017

The seasons had rapidly changed. It was quickly becoming no fun to be at a higher elevation. It was time to get the heck out of Idaho and move on to the next destination. Continue reading →

I Camped in the Snow and I Liked it!

March 20, 2017 / Marshall / 2 Comments

Snow equals cold and I don’t like the cold. For me to say I camped in the snow and I like it is almost one of those “stop the presses!” moments. Seriously. Continue reading →

Taking One for the Team – Kingman, AZ

March 17, 2017March 17, 2017 / Marshall / 4 Comments

February 2017

Living on the road is pretty damn awesome. The freedom. Not having obnoxious neighbors you can’t escape. An ever changing backyard. Pretty great. You should try it (or not if you like the boring, status quo). Continue reading →

Leaf Peeping in Silverton, Colorado

January 8, 2017January 8, 2017 / Marshall / Leave a comment

September/October 2016

Silverton was the first place I stayed in Colorado so it seemed appropriate that it would be one of the last places I’d stay as my summer wrapped up. Continue reading →

Catching Up with Kelly – Bayfield, Colorado

January 4, 2017January 4, 2017 / Marshall / 2 Comments

August/September 2016

Kelly had been hanging out in Bayfield (just east of Durango) for a couple of months with a friend, but was itching to get back on the road. I headed down to Bayfield to hang with her a bit before we headed west. Continue reading →

Marni ( @lust_for_roaming ) captured this great shot of my rig pre-super moon last night.
Left this gorgeous location after one night. I understand there is a state of emergency cuz there’s an invasion from the south. 🙄 So being this close to the border might not be smart. 🤦🏻‍♂️ It had nothing to do with the really 💩 Internet there. Nothing at all to do with that. 😆
Things that make you go 😳😬😱: When you get your mail (for the first time in 7 weeks) and realize you were supposed to appear as a prospective juror in a grand jury two weeks ago. 💩 AND the fine print says “a person who fails to comply with this summons … is subject to a contempt action punishable by a fine of not less than $100 or more than $1000”. . . One of the many benefits of being a part of the @escapeesrvclub is you simply call up the District Clerk’s Office and say the magic phrase “I’m an Escapee” and you are off the hook. No warrants out for your arrest. 😏
It’s becoming a tradition, watching the main sports ball event in the desert. Two years ago I attended the first, managed to miss the second one last year, but showed up for the third annual AGM Super Bowl party. Definitely more about the people (and commercials) then the actual game. Propane fire pit is a must since it gets damn cold in the desert this time of year when the sun goes down. 🏈 🌵 📺
Each year I tire quickly of the desert, having spent so much time in it since starting my nomadic journey (and pre-journey). I eagerly await warmer months so that I can head to higher ground and see something new or different. But one thing I don’t ever tire of is the spectacular desert sunsets. They really are hard to beat! 🌵🌅
The migration south continues (aka revisiting the places I’ve already been countless times 🤦🏻‍♂️). This is as good of a place to be as any when under the weather. Quiet. Not overly crowded. Actual desert vegetation. Rest and recovery and work are the order of the week.
