Alpine Campground – Alpine, Wyoming

June 2015

Looking for a quick stop over for the night on the way to the Grand Tetons (couldn’t make the drive in one day as I had to work), we chose to stay at Alpine Campground. Just outside of Alpine, Wyoming, this is a small National Forest campground that offers dry camping (no utilities, though water is on site).

Our campsite was about 100 yards from the Wyoming/Idaho border, which we had to cross to view the Palisades Reservoir on the Snake River. This turned out to be a very peaceful place  (except for the one obnoxious OHV that went by. Twice.) to sit awhile, watch the waterfowl, and work. Yes, it was a rough commute one state over! 😉
